Osteopathy is a manual therapy method that assesses and treats how the body functions as a whole. According to the Principles of Osteopathic philosophy when its structure and tissues are in balance the body has an innate ability to heal itself. Its main role is to restore the proper balance and function of the body, allowing it to heal through its own natural processes. The Osteopathic Manual Practitioner works to balance the nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems improving the range of motion and relieving discomfort or other symptoms. This preventive and integrative approach not only helps alleviate musculoskeletal pain and mobility issues but can also improve emotional and mental health, providing patients with a better quality of life. The osteopathic Practitioner will work to find and release any restrictions or dysfunctions that are getting in the way of your body’s own balance process. They do this by using a variety of manual techniques that help promote self-healing.
